OVERVIEW

Since commencing studies in collaboration with other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the UAE has proceeded with plans to set up on its own an ambitious nuclear power program with significant capacity being on line by 2020. The UAE expects that the four 1400 MWe nuclear units at Barakah will produce 25% of its electricity at a quarter the cost of that from gas.

Adyard is preparing to support the nuclear power plant at Barakah and to that end Adyard has been working with ENEC over the last couple of years to implement the NQA-1 Quality System.

After lots of interest and many companies applying, Adyard was selected as one of the very few companies chosen to carry out the pilot programme of Fit4Nuclear, which is another example of our dedication to continuous improvement delivering added value to our clients.
